South East Essex Academy Trust

The History of SEEAT

SEEAT was established in February 2011, with Westcliff High School for Girls as its founding school.

While the school has evolved significantly since moving to its current site in 1931, the original building still the original building still proudly stands today.

The Trust began to grow in April 2014 with the addition of Prince Avenue Academy and Nursery, and Rochford Primary School.

This was followed by Holt Farm Junior School, which joined in September 2014.

In September 2021, SEEAT welcomed three more schools: The Deanes, Westborough Academy, and Hadleigh Junior School — taking the total to seven..

This expansion coincided with the appointment of Andrew as our CEO.

Our growth continued in January 2024 when Heycroft Primary School became our eighth member.

In April 2024, we began working in partnership with Cornelius Vermuyden School on Canvey Island, which is set to formally join SEEAT in January 2026.
